1841 Advert: 'WANTED in a Foundry, a steady, skilful, and active Man, as an ENGINEER. Liberal Wages and permanent Employment will be given. Testimonials of Character will be required. Apply to the Executors of the late Mr Woodiwiss, Old Foundry, Barnsley.'[1]

1848 Advert: 'RICHARD INNS & CO., Engineers, Millwrights, Manufacturers of Steam-Engines, Boilers for ditto, and Iron and Brass Founders, Old Foundry, Barnsley, respectfully inform the Public, that, in addition to the Engineering department, they have commenced the Manufacture of STOVE-GRATES, KITCHEN-FIXTURES, &c., &c., and in order to afford a more convenient inspection such goods, a general Assortment will constantly be kept at the Establishment of Messrs. Inns, Gulliver, and Goldthorpe, (next door to the Barnsley Banking Company,) where they have appropriated Rooms expressely for their Exhibition; and, in this their new Branch of Manufacture, they confidently trust for a portion of public patronage. (One Concern.).'[2]

1861 Notice of sale of engineering tools, stock, patterns, etc., in consequence of the termination of the partnership of Richard Inns & Co.[3]
