1833 Married at Bolton-le-Moors to Mary Tattersall
1834 Established Richard Threlfall (of Bolton), ironfounders and textile machinery makers.
1836 Permission granted for a house and workshop in Bridgeman Place.[1]
1851 Living at Bridgeman Place, Bolton: Richard Threlfall (age 45 born Bolton), Machine Maker Master employing 124 men and 89 boys. With his wife Mary Threlfall (age 35 born Edenfield, Lancs.) and their six children and two nieces.[2]
1857 Advert. '...Threlfall's New Self-Acting Mule...[long description given]'[3]
1861 Living at 2 Spindle Street, Bolton: Richard Threlfall (age 55 born Bolton), Machine Maker employing 350 hands. With his wife Mary Threlfall (age 45 born Bolton) and their five children.
1861 Patent. '1859. To Richard Threlfall, of Bolton, in the county of Lancaster, Machine Maker and Founder, for the invention of "improvements in machinery or apparatus for spinning cotton or other fibrous material."'[4]
1864 Patent. '1369. To Richard Threlfall, of Bolton, in the county of Lancaster, Machine Maker, and Robert Walker Pitfield, of the same place, Machinist, for the invention of "improvements in machinery or apparatus for spinning cotton, wool, flax, and other fibrous materials."'[5]
1867 Richard Bolton died on 29 December, aged 62 [6]
