"ROBERT CRAIG was chairman of directors of Robert Craig and Sons (Engineers), Ltd., Belfast, and had been associated with the firm since 1897, when he began to serve his apprenticeship, until his death which occurred on 30th December 1950 in his seventy-first year. He was educated at the Belfast School of Art and Municipal Technical Institute.

On the completion of his practical training in 1903 he took part in the management of the business and was placed in charge of the drawing office and all outside work. On the conversion of the firm into a limited liability company in 1917, he joined the board of directors, becoming chairman four years later. Mr. Craig was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1920 and transferred to Membership in 1928.
