1848 Of the Union Foundry (Bradford)

1855 'Sudden Deaths ...... —Robert Crosland, Esq., proprietor of the extensive Railway Foundry works, Manchester-road, is the other to whom we allude. Mr. Crosland, who during the forenoon of Wednesday seemed in his usual health, went by the Midland Railway to Leeds in the afternoon of that day, but previous to the train entering the station he was observed by his foreman, who accompanied him, to droop, and his ticket fell from his hand. He, however, rallied in some degree and returned to Bradford, and afterwards walked home. He was, however, again attacked and died about six o'clock. Mr. Crosland was a member of the Society of Friends, and 43 years of age. Seldom has there existed a warmer-hearted friend, a better master, or a more upright and unassuming man.'[3]
