1926 Acquired over the marine engineering works of Blair and Co to try and secure the business.

1926 Purchased the Blyth Shipbuilding and Dry Docks Co. The yard's name was changed to Cowpen Dry Docks and Shipbuilding Co. The yard was amalgamated with Ritson's Shipbuilding and Engineering Co

1927 Acquired the forge department of John Spencer and Sons

1944 Died in Newcastle[2]
