1977 Specialists in constructing multi-storey car parks. Wilfred Marley of Workington, specialists in blast furnace engineering and contracting, was a subsidiary. Acquired by Fairclough Construction Group[3], which later became AMEC plc

1987 Robert Watson and Co. (Constructional Engineers) Ltd and Robert Watson and Co. (Steelwork) Ltd were part of AMEC plc

1991 Renamed Watson Steel Ltd

2001 Severfield-Rowen acquired Watson Steel Structures of Bolton from AMEC.
