1819 Born in West Cowes son of Thomas White

1851 Robert White 32, ship builder, lived in Cowes with Louisa White 34, John Henry White 5, Limar Alice White 2, Franklin White 1[1]

After his father retired, he and his brother John took over the management of the shipbuilding business at Cowes.

1856 Messrs John and Robert White, shipbuilders of Cowes, subscribed £20 to the Smith Testimonial Fund, commemorating the work of F. P. Smith in promoting the screw propeller.

1861 Retired ship builders, lived in West Cowes with his family[2]

1866 Died in West Cowes. 'On the 31st ult., at Cowes, Isle of Wight, of lingering consumption, Robert White, aged 47, late of the firm of John and Robert White, Medina Docks.'[3]
