near Middleton, Lancashire

This heavily-skewed brick bridge (with stone voussoirs at the ends) was built by the Manchester and Leeds Railway to cross the Rochdale Canal.

A mile to the south is the historically-significant cast iron bowstring Mills Hill Bridge, Chadderton (Bridge 69b). It carried the same railway over the same canal.
