1938 The plant was built adjacent to the Castner-Kellner site

Manufactured a variety of chemicals based on chlorine products, including Chloromethanes, Arklone dry cleaning fluid, Trichloethylene degreasing fluid and the Arcton range of CFCs. Also on that site were PVC manufacture and HF (Hydrogen fluoride) manufacture.

1959 Sought permission to stop up part of Cow Hey lane for extension of the works[1]

By 1960 the plant was the biggest industrial employer in Runcorn and Widnes.
