1841 Sale Notice: 'By Mr. RICHARD CLEGG, on Saturday and Monday, December 11th and 13th, 1841, on the premises occupied by Roger Tatham, situate in Bury-road, Rochdale, the following MACHINERY, consisting of one 16-inch double geered lathe with face plates and chucks, one 9 1/2-inch ditto .... three sets of upright drills, one boring machine, eight pair of vice, vice benches, lathe gawntrces, joiners' benches, speed shafts and pulleys for lathes, large grinding stone and trough, tool atone and wrought iron trough, glazers in cast iron framing, speed shafts and drums for grinding stone and glazers ; one new carding engine, one new drawing frame with three treble heads, one 7 feet rest for turning cylinders up; gas meter and gas piping of various sorts; screwing machine and speeds, one excellent pressing machine for brass collars and steps, quantity of turning tools for lathes, joiners'tools, quantity of smiths' tools, two pair of bellows, two anvils, two swage blocks, one crank block, pair of scales and weights, straps ; one set of cast patterns for throstles, ditto for looms, ditto for drawing frame, ditto for winding frame, large quantity of wood patterns ; quantity of 1-inch baywood boards, owler planks, &c.; cobula with fan and speed; moulding benches and other articles in. the iron foundry line; also smithy tools, Sic, Sic, together with one narrow wheeled cart; wheelbarrow; set of horse geers; and one black mare. Also, the following HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, consisting of three beds and bedding, one set of mahogany drawers, one set of painted ditto, six mahogany chairs, six common ditto, one dresser, one corner cupboard, one set of oak drawers, book case, one square cupboard, one eight days' clock in oak case, one mahogany snap table, one ditto, dressing table, pots, pans, cans, &c. Catalogues of the machinery only will be ready on Saturday, and may be had of the auctioneer, the printers, or on the premises. ....
