1953 The RM60 had undergone shore trials and was being fitted in HMS Grey Goose[1]. The engine had an output of 8,000 h.p. and would give the ship a speed of over 35 knots. [2] (NB a later reference says the engine was capable of developing 6,000 hp[3]).
Two of these engines were also ordered by the US Navy
