'Sir Ronald Wilfred Matthews. of Albion Place, Doncaster, late of Wadworth Hall, near Doncaster, deputy chairman of the Independent Television Authority, former chairman of the London and North Eastern Railway, chairman of Turton Brothers and Matthews. Ltd. the Sheffield steel firm, late chairman of General Refractories Ltd, former director of Thomas Cook and Son, Ltd the Brush Electrical Engineering Co. Ltd., Marshall, Sons and Co. Ltd., J. P. Skinner and Co. Ltd., and the Gresham Life and Gresham Fire and Accident Assurance Societies, who died last July, aged 74.'[1]
