Rotherham and District Collieries Association
1926 - October. Formed as a joint organisation for the sale of the coal which it produced. The United Steel Companies, John Brown and Co and the Dalton Main Collieries were joint partners in the association.[1]
The scheme embraced eight collieries:
- United Steel Companies.
- Orgreave Colliery.
- Fence Colliery Co.
- Treeton and Thurcroft Main Colliery.
- John Brown and Co.
- Aldwarke Main Colliery and Rotherham Main Colliery.
- Dalton Main Collieries.
- Silverwood Colliery and Roundwood Colliery.
1926 - November. Mr H. A. Wright who had for some years been in charge of the Dalton Main Collieries' coal-selling arrangements, became the general manager of the new association, and the office was at 18, Tree Root-walk, Sheffield.[2]
1926 November. The Tinsley Park Colliery Co became part of the Association. Mr J. Hazel, secretary of Tinsley Park Colliery Co was appointed director and secretary of the Association.[3]
