Mr. Wright was educated at Wellington School,Somerset,and at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He obtained a Mechanical Sciences Tripos in 1923.

From 1923 to 1929 he was on the scientific staff of the National Physical Laboratory.

In 1929 he was Deputy Director, and in 1937 Director of Research at the National Institute of Agricultural Engineering, and in 1942 he was appointed Director of that Institute.

Mr. Wright has been Agricultural Adviser to the Ford Motor Co. since 1947 and has been Consulting Engineer to the Royal Agricultural Society since 1931.
