Founded by Samuel Berisford and his brother William Berisford

1884 Partnership change. '...the Partnership lately subsisting between us the undersigned, Samuel Berisford, William Berisford, Thomas Berisford, and Frederick Berisford, carrying on business in Withy-grove, Manchester, and at Macclesfield, in the county of Chester, as Grocers and Wine and Spirit Merchants, under the style or firm of S. and W. Berisford, was dissolved, on the 31st December last, by mutual consent, so far as regards the said William Berisford, who then retired from the firm. All debts due to or owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Samuel Berisford, Thomas Berisford, and Frederick Berisford, who will in conjunction with the undersigned, William Berisford the younger, continue the said business under the said style or firm of S. and W. Berisford....'[1]

1892 Partnership change. '...the Partnership lately subsisting between us the undersigned, Samuel Berisford, Thomas Berisford, Frederick Berisford, and William Berisford the younger, carrying on business as Wholesale Grocers, at 22, Withy-grove, in the city of Manchester, and as Wholesale and Retail Grocers and Wine and Spirit Merchants, in Mill-street, Macclesfield, in the county of Chester, under the style or firm of S. and W. Berisford, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. The Manchester branch of the business of the late firm will be carried on as heretofore under the style of S. and W. Berisford, at 22, Withy-grove, Manchester, by the said Samuel Berisford and William Berisford the younger alone, who will receive and pay all debts due to or owing by the late firm in respect of the Manchester branch of their business. The Macclesfield branch of the business of the late firm will be carried on as heretofore under the style of S. and W. Berisford, in Millstreet, Macclesfield, by the said Frederick Berisford alone...'[2]

1910 Partnership dissolved. '... the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Frederick William Berisford and Samuel Herbert Berisford, carrying on business as Grocers and Wine and Spirit Merchants, at 44 and 46, Mill-street, Macclesfield, in the county of Chester, under the style or firm of S. AND W. BERISFORD, has been dissolved by mutual consent...'[3]
