SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems

1990s: Under the Eurosystems agreement, Finmeccanica acquired several British assets in the avionics, military and secure communications and air traffic control sectors.

2005 Finmeccanica SpA and BAE Systems merged BAE Systems Avionics Ltd. with Galileo Avionica SpA to form a new avionics business, SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems Ltd, majority owned by Finmeccanica [1]

The SELEX family became:

  • SELEX Communications (military and secure communications)
  • SELEX Galileo (avionics and electro-optics)
  • SELEX Sistemi Integrati (command and control and air traffic management)
