Previously The Sirius was a pioneering steam-powered vessel
1889 The screw steamer Sirius was launched[1] by the Blyth Shipbuilding Company, for Bremen. The ship was built of iron, 18l.5 ft. in length, breadth 26ft., and depth 15.5 ft. The engines were by Messrs. Matthew Paul and Co., of Dumbarton.
1903 Another ship with this name was launched[2]
