1887, April 18. The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co received a telegram from S. R. Platt onboard his steam yacht Norseman, reporting the loss of the Tasmania in Ajaccio. He was cruising around Corsica when he came upon the wreck of the Tasmania and helped to save crew and passengers. [1]
