1947 Formation of Samlesbury Engineering Ltd. by Eric Rylands.

1953 Directors: Eric Rylands (Chairman and Managing), David Gaunt, Joseph Mort Twiss (General Manager).

1954 Built the new Bluebird (world's first all metal, turbo-jet hydroplane) for Donald Campbell; Eric Rylands was chairman[1]

1958 Set up Lancashire Aircraft Co as a subsidiary to continue production of the EP.9
