1903 The company started trading, originally as a brickmaker.

1930s Started to manufacture clay roofing tiles

1945 Stopped brick making.

1954 Started to make concrete roofing tiles.

1963 Introduced roofing contractor service, Alexander Sinclair, to compete for this type of contract Marley Contract Services.

by 1981 Sandtoft Tileries (Holdings) was the parent company of Sandtoft Tileries Ltd, a manufacturer of concrete roofing tiles; Goxhill Tileries Ltd, a manufacturer of concrete roofing tiles and clay roofing tiles; and Alexander Sinclair Limited, a roofing contractor.
