Scottish Rural Gas

From Graces Guide

of Perthshire Chemical Works, Friarton, Perth

1941 Scottish Rural Gas Limited was registered as a private company, with capital of £3,000, to carry on business as distributors of rural gas and appliances.[1]

1963 The company, a partly-owned subsidiary of Scottish Agricultural Industries, was acquired by Calor Gas for £1.5 million. Scottish Rural Gas had marketed liquified petroleum gas in Scotland and the North of England and the intention was to maintain the business as a separate entity.[2]

1983 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[3]
