1953 G. D. Searle and Co Ltd was incorporated in the UK as a subsidiary of a US company of similar name.

1968 Acquired J. G. Franklin,manufacturer of surgical and medical supplies[1]

1969 Acquired Baird and Tatlock (London)

1970 As a result of acquiring a number of companies, including J. G. Franklin and Sons, the company formed a division handling hospital supplies, based in High Wycombe[2]

1976 C. F. Palmer (London) Ltd, Baird and Tatlock (International) Ltd and J. G. Franklin and Sons Ltd, all of Lane End, High Wycombe, were wound up voluntarily[3]

1978 The parent company had been disposing of interests in subsidiary companies; during the year the British company sold Baird and Tatlock (London) Ltd[4]

1993 Became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Monsanto plc[5]

Became part of Pharmacia

2002 Pharmacia was acquired by Pfizer[6]
