1903 The Shetland Islands Steam Trading Company Limited was incorporated, with capital of £12,000, to carry on business as shipowners, carriers and warehousemen, the subscribers being a group of local merchants and farmers.[1]

1908 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[2]
