1793 Established in St. Austell. The founding partners solicitors' practice was run conjointly with the banking business.

1820 The partnership was first described as a bank

By 1829 known as Coode & Sons.

1840 William Shilson, attorney, joined the partnership and the firm was restyled Coode, Sons & Shilson.

By 1859 it was known as Coode, Shilson & Co

By 1865 it was Shilson, Coode & Co

By 1887 known as Coode, Coode & Shilson

By 1902 known as Shilson, Coode & Co by 1902; it was also known as St Austell Bank.

1920 The bank merged with National Provincial and Union Bank of England of London
