post-WWII The Ship Division of the National Physical Laboratory set up the N.P.L. Ship Hydrodynamics Laboratory at Feltham. In this laboratory the Division carried out experiments for shipbuilders on new designs and basic research into the hydrodynamic problems of ships.[1]
