c1856 Born the son of William Hollands, a Corn and Seed Factor, and his wife Sophia
1878 Patent. 3940. To Sidney Herbert Hollands, of Old Kent, London, for the invention of "improvements in expansion and reversing gear for steam and other fluid pressure engines."[1]
1889 Married in Greenwich to Sophia Harrington
1896 Wrote an article in "Antiquary" entitled "Extinct Iron Industry of the Weald of Sussex".
1901 Living at 25 Ellys Road, Coventry: Sidney H. Hollands (age 45 born Cowden, Kent), Mechanical Engineer. With his wife Sophia Hollands (age 39 born Rochester) and their two children Cyril H. Hollands (age 9 born Old Charlton) and Gladys R. Hollands (age 6 born Old Charlton). Also his mother Sophia P. Hollands (age 69 born Camberwell).[2]
1901 August. Of the Motor Mills.[3]
1908 Patent. Advanced propellant device for air machines, also applicable to ventilation and similar goals
1911 Living at 11 Boundary Road, Wood Green, West Green, Tottenham: Sidney H. Hollands (age 55 born Cowden, Kent), Engineer Draughtsman. With his wife Sophia Hollands (age 48 born Rochester) and their three children; Cyril H. Hollands (age 19 born Old Charlton), Engineer Draughtsman; Horace P. Hollands (age 5 born Pitsmoor, Sheffield); and Gladys R. Hollands (age 16 born Old Charlton). Also his mother Sophia P. Hollands (age 78 born London).[4]
