1972 Motor Rail Ltd changed the name of its operating company to Simplex Mechanical Handling. Low Loading Trailer Co was renamed Simplex Mechanical Handling Ltd.

1976 Simplex Mechanical Handling had been producing its design of "mini loco" for 10 years. It had proved such a success that it had just topped the £l4 million mark in export sales.[1]

By 1977 R. A. Wenham was Deputy Chairman and Managing Director

1995 Acquired by Wenham and Wemyss Ltd
