Sizewell A Nuclear Power Station

1961 Sizewell A, a Magnox station, began construction

1966 Sizewell A began generation

1987 Construction of a second power plant started on the site - Sizewell B was the first nuclear station in the UK to use a Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR)[1]

2006 Sizewell A ceased generating electricity on 31 December 2006. Over 40 years of safe, compliant generation the site produced 110 TWh of electricity.

2014 More than half of the fuel had been removed from Sizewell A.
