1924 Company formed by Samuel Wallace Smedley of Evesham when he bought the old Crosse and Blackwell jam making factory at Wisbech

1931 Built a factory at West Marsh Road, Spalding

1937 Opened a bottling plant at Evesham

1968 Imperial Tobacco Co acquired National Canning Co, owner of Smedley's

Smedley's became part of Imperial Foods

1972 Put into holding company with other subsidiaries of Imperial: Smedley-H.P. Foods

1981 Brand leader in canned goods vegetables, merged with Tozer, Kemsley and Millbourn (Holdings), leader in own-brand canned goods[1] as TKM Foods.
