1 Oct 1900 - Incorporated as Smith Brothers (Whitehaven) Limited. [3] “To acquire the business of Charles James Smith, Adam Smith and Thomas Aird Smith of Scotch Street Mill and No. 21 Tangier Street, Whitehaven, in the County of Cumberland, and carrying on business in partnership as wholesale and manufacturing stationers, paper merchants, lithographic and letterpress printers, account book and paper bag makers, dealers in fancy goods, etc., under the style SMITH BROTHERS.” [4]
