1921 Henry Foster and Sons (Bishop Auckland) Ltd was incorporated

1964 Renamed Henry Foster Building Products Ltd

1979 Steetley acquired Gibbons Dudley Ltd leading to the establishment of Steetley Brick Ltd, Steetley Engineering Ltd and Steetley Properties (Holdings) Ltd.

1980 Henry Foster Building Products Ltd was renamed Steetley Brick Ltd

1981 Steetley acquired G. H. Downing Co Ltd and increased its production capacity in facing bricks which also took the company into making clay roof tiles.

1984 Steetley Brick Ltd. made clay bricks with a smaller output of plain clay roof tiles. Also produced sand lime mortar. Two brickworks in North-East England, two in North-West England, four in the West Midlands and one in Somerset. Clay roof tiles produced at two works in Staffordshire. Four of the company's works have laboratories for quality control and for development of products and processes. The company sponsored research by the British Ceramic Research Association and by Structural Clay Products Ltd.

1986 Steetley Brick Ltd was renamed Steetley Brick and Tile Ltd

1990 Steetley Brick and Tile Ltd was renamed Steetley Building Products Ltd
