1978 Steetley Magnesite Co Ltd was renamed Steetley Construction Materials Ltd

1981 Acquired:

1984 The company produced: (a) Aggregates of sand and gravel and crushed rock used to make concrete, to surface roads, and for foundations, embankments and similar works. Sand and gravel was produced in 11 quarries and one marine aggregate plant; rock was won at 16 rock quarries. (6) Ready-mixed concrete - made at 54 plants. (c) Reconstructed stone blocks manufactured at three plants. (d) Coated roadstone made at one plant.
