1937 Castings in Elektron (magnesium) and aluminium alloys. [3]. Sterling Metals made Birmid Industries a leader in magnesium foundry work[4].

1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Cast iron cylinder blocks and heads. Of Gipsy Lane, Nuneaton. [5]
1982 By now was part of the Birmid Qualcast (Foundries). Specialised in diesel engine blocks and aerospace, missiles, turbine and road wheels.[6]
1988 Name of Sterling Metals Ltd was changed to Sterling Components Ltd but does not seem to have been officially approved.
1988 Name Sterling Metals Ltd was changed to Sterling International Technology Ltd
1990 A subsidiary of Christy Hunt Plc
