1848 A trade directory referred to a Ben Sturtivant and Co, Electro Gilders of 52 Spencer Street, London.
By 1859 the directory had replaced that firm by Mrs Hannah Sturtevand and Co' Electro Platers and Gilders of 19 Northampton Square, Clerkenwell, London
1904 Incorporated as a private limited company.
By 1905 Sturtevant and Co Ltd, Electro Platers and Gilders, were at 90/92 Clerkenwell Road, later moving to 105/111 Euston Road.
1914 Electro-platers and manufacturers. Specialities: gilding, bronzing and oxidizing for jewellers, silversmiths, metal workers etc.; electro-brassing, coppering, silver and nickel plating for cycle and motor manufacturers, sanitary engineers, electric light companies, mineral water machine manufacturers, gas engineers, restaurant and bar fitters, musical, surgical, mathematical and optical instrument manufacturers, ship and yacht builders; metal polishing and lacquering for all trades, stove enamelling in black and colours for cycle and other trades.
