The Sutton Heath and Lea Green Collieries

c. 1852 The collieries were started at St. Helens; worked by James Bradley

1888 Company formed.

1893 Modern pits were sunk about 1893 to a depth of about 500 yards.

1920 Company registered; annual output of 750,000 tons; one of its largest shareholders was Richard Evans and Co.
