Swan Lane Nos. 1 & 2 constituted a double mill, built 1902 - 1905. Six stories. Claimed to be the largest cotton-spinning mill in the world when built. 210,000 mule spindles. Ten superheated Lancashire boilers. Designed by Stott and Sons.[1]

Swan Lane No. 3 was added in 1914, with 120,000 mule spindles.
