Syngenta AG is a global Swiss agribusiness that produces agrochemicals and seeds. As a biotechnology company, it conducts genomic research.

UK locations include: Fulbourn, Grangemouth, Guildford, Huddersfield, Jealott's Hill, Manchester.

2000 Formed by the merger of Novartis Agribusiness and Zeneca Agrochemicals.

In 2004, Syngenta Seeds purchased Garst, the North American corn and soy bean business of Advanta, as well as Golden Harvest Seeds. On December 5, 2004, the European Union ended a six-year moratorium when it approved imports of two varieties of genetically modified corn sold by Monsanto and its Swiss rival, Syngenta.

As of 2009 Syngenta ranked third in seeds and biotechnology sales. Sales in 2014 were approximately US$ 15.1 billion, over half of which were in emerging markets.

As of 2014 Syngenta was the world’s largest crop chemical producer, the strongest in Europe.
