1888 The drapery business was established by Mr. T. J. Harries and managed by him until his death in November 1901.

1902 T. J. Harries and Company Limited was registered as a public company, with a capital of £121,000, on July 26th, to acquire the firm of the same name. The business and properties had been purchased by Mr. Benjamin Harries in April for £110,200, and he now resold the business to the company for £121,000.[1]

1928 The company was acquired by John Lewis and Co for £542,000.[2]
