T. J. Williams

Mr. Williams was educated at the Llanelly Grammar School and the University of Birmingham, where in 1945 he graduated with first class honours in Mechanical Engineering and was awarded the Nadejde Prize in Engineering.
After a period as research student at Birmingham he obtained the degree of M.Sc. for work on internal combustion engine exhaust pulsations. In 1946, he was also awarded the external degree of B.Sc. (Special Mathematics) of London University.
From 1946 to 1948, he was a lecturer in Engineering at the Glamorgan Technical College, Treforest, and in 1948 he was appointed assistant lecturer, and later lecturer, in engineering at the University College of Swansea where he has been engaged in research into the metering of pulsating air flows. In 1954 he was awarded a Viscount Weir Prize by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
