1841 The business of Thomas Walker

1847 Advert: Patent self feeding Phoenix Stove

1849 Thomas Walker of 58 Oxford St: Patent Phoenix Stove & Patent Rotary Boot Shoe Heel Manufacturer[1]

1854 Thomas Walker, engine maker of Oxford Street. Birmingham.

1855 Won a prize medal at the Paris Exhibition of 1855.[2]

c.1855 An advert in 1880 claimed the business had been supplying the Royal Navy (presumably with sounding instruments initially) for 25 years[3]

1858 T. Walker, stove manufacturer, 54 Oxford St, and engine builders, of Oxford St.[4]

1862 Thomas Walker patented the first 'Walker Ship Log'. This was a refinement of Edward Massey's design by Thomas Walker.[5]
