1844 Sale Notice: 'SALE OF EXCELLENT MACHINERY, VALUABLE SCREW-CUTTING LATHES, AND OTHER EFFECTS, In Bradford-street, corner of Lombard-street, Birmingham.
TO be SOLD by AUCTION, Mr.GIMBLETT, To-morrow (Tueeday), September 24. on the premises as above (by order of the Executors of the late Mr. T. W. Ingram)— sundry excellent Machinery and Effects; consisting of a very complete and valuable screw-cutting lathe, eight feet long, with compound slide rest, train of change-wheel pulleys, and gearing, two smaller screw-cutting lathes complete, a very powerful and superior punching machine, with fly-wheel and gearing, suitable for a boilermaker, two button shank-making machines, three very ingenious copying pentagraphs or figure lathes, six useful small bar lathes, the large powerful bed lathe, with faceplate, &c. formerly Dr. Church's, several pairs of eight and eleven-inch cylinders, with metallic pistons, proving pump, excellent milling engine, sundry heavy shafting, turned and grooved, iron and wood casting moulds, five new copying presses, quantity of lathe-work, planed, sundry ingots, hubs and taps, and smiths' tools, vices, bellows, a gilding stove complete, set of large powerful triangles, sundry gas-fittings, and other effects; particulars of which appear in the catalogues.'
