TMA Engineering

TMA Engineering Ltd of 95-111 Tyburn Rd, Erdington, Birmingham, suppliers of power presses, also offering maintenance, repair and rebuilding services. Another part of the business is Railways and Locomotives.

1973 TMA Engineering Ltd. was established to provide a service to the power press industry

TMA have also designed and built new diesel and steam locomotives and provide spare parts, repairs, restoration and maintenance work on all types and sizes of locomotives.

Over the years TMA acquired other businesses such as Taylor and Challen Presses, CVA Dieing Presses, MM Power Presses and all the drawings for Sweeney and Blocksidge Presses.

TMA's business in building and overhauling miniature steam locomotives typically handles 7.25 inch gauge locos but they have also overhauled several 15 inch gauge locomotives, and have built five substantial 15 inch gauge diesel locomotives.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in Kent has two TMA 15 inch gauge diesels, Captain Howey and John Southland

The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway in Cumbria has one TMA engine, Douglas Ferreira

The Shuzenji Romney Railway in Japan has two TMA engines.

2006 One of the latest projects that the company was to undertake has been the overhauling of the R&ER steam locomotive River Mite over the Winter of 2006/07.
