1830 Founded by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill.

1894 Talisker Distillery Limited was registered, with capital of £40,000, to acquire as a going concern the business of distillers, maltsters, and merchants carried on at the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye, and at Elgin and elsewhere.[1] The company was a private one, with Thomas Mackenzie as managing partner.[2]
