1967 The Independent Television Authority decided not to reappoint Rediffusion Television to the London ITV contract. Instead a merger was forced with rival company ABC Television to form Thames Television.
1968 Company founded; Associated British Picture Corporation owned a majority share in Thames Television.
1981 Thorn EMI Video was an associate of Thames Television in releasing old TV programmes on video cassette[1]
1985 The Independent Broadcasting Authority rejected Carlton Communications's plans to take over Thames TV.
1985 The company was owned by BET, and Thorn EMI and 5 percent by employees.
1986 Thames Television, the largest independent television station in the UK, was to list its shares on the Stock Exchange[2]
