1911 Established by Thomas Alva Edison to consolidate many of his companies in one structure, to control costs and centralise common operations such as advertising, legal and purchasing.

1932 The Edison Storage Battery Co was integrated into the company. The Edison Storage Battery Division was set up. Sales of the storage battery and the business phonograph kept the company going.

1960s Manufacture of storage batteries for commercial and industrial use came to an end.
