'... the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, John Aitken and Thomas Aitken, carrying on business at Irwell Yale, Edenfield, in the county of Lancaster, under the firm of Thomas Aitken and Son, as Cotton Spinners and Manufacturers, has been dissolved by mutual consent as on and from the 31st day of December last. All debts due to and owing by the said firm will be received and paid by the said Thomas Aitken, who will continue the business as heretofore on his own separate account, under the same style or firm...'[1]
