Thomas Gilbert Sorby (1887-1966), only son of Thomas William Sorby, managing director of Thomas Sorby and Sons

1891 Living at 55 Graham Road, Ranmoor, Upper Hallam, Yorkshire: Thomas W. Sorby (age 38 born Sheffield), Iron Merchant. With his wife Pauline and their son Thomas G. Sorby (age 4 born Sheffield) and two daughters.[1]

1911 Living at Southfield, Ranmoor, Sheffield: Thomas G. Sorby (age 24 born Sheffield), Iron and Steel Merchant. With his widow mother Pauline, and two sisters.[2]

1928 Elected Master Cutler.[3]

1939 Living at Bubnell Hall, Bakewell, Iron and Steel Merchant, with Dorothea Sorby.[4]
