"THOMAS GREEN, whose death occurred on 23rd November 1946, was a chemical engineer and had been associated with the Casmer Kellner Alkali Company, Ltd., of Runcorn, both during its independent existence and after its merger in Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd., for the whole of his professional career, including his apprenticeship in the fitting shops and drawing office, from 1897 to 1904.
He was born in 1882, and received his technical education at the Runcorn Technical Institute, at the City and Guilds Engineering College, South Kensington, and at Liverpool University.
After occupying the position of draughtsman for seventeen years, he had been, since 1917, an engineer with Imperial Chemical Industries, and in that capacity was closely concerned with the production of dyestuffs. Mr. Green was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1913."
