THOMAS HENRY POULSON had a long record of service as a gas engineer with the Stafford Corporation; and at the time of his death, which occurred on 16th December 1941 in his fifty-fourth year, he had occupied the position of engineer, manager, and secretary for twenty years.
He served his apprenticeship from 1901 to 1905 in the workshops of Messrs. W. G. Bagnall, Ltd., locomotive engineers, of Stafford, and received his technical training in the Corporation Gas Department. In 1910 he became assistant engineer to the Cannock and District Gas Company, and in 1913 joined. the Nelson Corporation Gas Company in a similar capacity. He returned to Stafford in 1914 to succeed his father as works superintendent and was appointed engineer and manager in 1921.
Mr. Poulson had been an Associate Member of the Institution since 1920.
