1884 J. B. Hannay retired and the firm continued as Gourlie and Hinshelwood.

1887 Became Thomas Hinshelwood and Co.

1906 Incorporated as a limited company.

1914 Manufacturers of paints, colours, varnishes, oils, greases etc. Specialities: colours for all purposes, "Nile" and "Galley" brand paints, anti-fouling and anti-corrosive compositions, "Walcote" and "Galley" brand enamels, "Engoline" oils and greases, distempers such as "Freskel", "Galley" brand cold water paint and "Plasco".
